About State University of New York at Brockport

State University of New York at Brockport, officially called The College at Brockport: State University of New York and also known as as SUNY Brockport, Brockport State, or College at Brockport, is a four-year liberal arts college located in Brockport, which is a village in the Town of Sweden, in Monroe County, in the US state of New York, with a population of more than 8000 inhabitants, according to the 2000 census.

SUNY Brockport was established in 1867 and is a constituent college of the State University of New York. It first started as Brockport Collegiate Institute, in 1841, and, in 1866, became Brockport State Normal School, one year after that adopting its current name. It offers its students a total of 50 undergraduate majors, 41 master's degree programs, and teacher certification in 24 areas of study.

Athletics

Brockport State's athletic teams are known as the Golden Eagles and they compete in NCAA Division III. Their distinctive colors are green and gold.
